• Plan and oversee school counseling services • Manage and conduct therapy for IEP and 504 students according to their counseling plans • Manage and conduct therapy for general education students according to their counseling plans • Provide recurring direct and group school-based counseling to general education students • Respond to emergency situations with limited-scope direct and group crisis counseling • Respond on an on-call basis to active suicidal or homicidal ideation, threats, and acute psychosis • Collaborate with families, academy administration, and staff to develop safety plans • Assess threats and risks to students and others • Provide referral information for local and community agencies • Provide direct, group, and consultative counseling services to students with IEPs • Assist general education staff with behavioral accommodations and behavior plans • Develop counseling-session schedules for assigned schools • Communicate and collaborate with parents, staff, and administrators regarding student planning and progress • Attend IEP and special education evaluation meetings • Complete relevant special education paperwork and quarterly progress reports
• Master's degree in counseling psychology, clinical psychology, educational psychology, school psychology, social work, or marriage and family therapy, or equivalent • Preferred experience in crisis counseling, safety/threat assessment, and school-based counseling • Specialized training and experience working with students with disabilities is ideal • Certification as LMSW, LCSW, MFT, LPC, or equivalent • Successful criminal history background check • Fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements • Ability to provide direct, group, crisis, and school-based counseling • Ability to assess threats and risks to self and others • Ability to support students with IEPs and behavioral accommodations • Ability to complete special education paperwork and quarterly progress reports • Ability to travel locally for training and professional development when needed • Ability to perform required physical functions, including standing, sitting, repetitive hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching • Ability to move or position equipment weighing up to approximately 15 pounds
