📋 Description

• Build and maintain clean, tested, and documented dbt models in Snowflake across staging, intermediate, and mart layers • Work directly with stakeholders to understand goals, clarify ambiguous problems, and shape meaningful solutions • Create dashboards, explorations, and self-serve datasets in BI tools • Define, document, and maintain shared metric definitions • Resolve discrepancies when metrics do not match • Add data tests, monitoring, and alerting • Triage and fix data issues • Collaborate with data engineering on ingestion, warehouse performance, cost, and raw-data landing practices • Use Git, pull requests, code review, and CI to ship changes safely • Apply AI tools to SQL, documentation, exploration, and debugging workflows • Help establish best practices, standards, and documentation for the analytics practice

🎯 Requirements

• 3–5 years in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a similar role • Strong SQL, including CTEs and window functions • Hands-on dbt and a cloud warehouse, ideally Snowflake • Solid grasp of modeling patterns, testing, and documentation • Python for data work and automation • Experience with a modern BI tool such as Metabase, Hex, Sigma, Omni, Looker, or Tableau • Ability to turn vague stakeholder requests into defined problems and explain tradeoffs • Working knowledge of metric governance, data governance, and observability • Git workflows on GitHub or GitLab • AI in daily workflow, with judgment to verify outputs • Appetite for a fast-moving company where processes may need to be built independently • Fluency with SQL and working knowledge of dbt and lakehouse workflows • Working knowledge of BI/Viz tools • Working knowledge of ELT/ETL tools such as Fivetran or Airbyte for batch use cases • Working knowledge of data observability/reliability practices, including automated alerting and lineage tracking • Fluency with AI-augmented development tools such as Claude or Copilot • Nice to have: Airbyte or another ingestion/orchestration tool such as Airflow or Dagster • Nice to have: experience building a semantic layer such as dbt Semantic Layer, Omni, or LookML • Nice to have: comfort with the command line
