📋 Description

• Perform routine design of less complex engineering assignments using theoretical knowledge and practical design methods • Assist in the design of larger and more complex automation projects or lead smaller automation projects • Recognize and communicate scope and design changes promptly • Provide on-site assistance during startup • Provide technical guidance to less experienced engineering personnel • Coordinate work activities with staff members and C&A Office Leaders • Produce control system installation specifications • Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies on small projects • Configure control systems with an emphasis on ease of maintenance and meeting client expectations • Consult with design leaders from other disciplines to ensure smooth information flow • Review and check vendor drawings for Controls & Automation input • Perform fieldwork to gather data and retrieve existing control system configuration

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor or Master degree of Chemical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering from an accredited university is required • Engineer in Training (EIT) registration is required • Professional Engineering (PE) registration is preferred upon eligibility • Minimum 1 year of relevant industrial experience in controls and automation engineering • Ability to understand and implement the current version of ISA S88 programming standards • Ability to understand and implement the current version of IEC 61131 programming languages and standards • Ability to understand and implement the current version of ISA S84 programming standards • Ability to understand and implement the current version of OSHA 1910.119 Management of Change • Experience with DCS, PLC, HMI, or SIS systems • Ability to create accurate controls hardware installation documents from vendor equipment drawings • Ability to read and interpret PFD’s, P&ID’s, and instrument loop sheets • Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking protocols • Ability to troubleshoot I/O, software, and networking problems in the field using common isolation techniques • Knowledge and application of Microsoft Windows Client, Microsoft Server Operating Systems, UNIX, Linux, or VMS • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
