📋 Description

• Own AI systems end to end, from ingestion and transformation through serving and the AI layer • Build production retrieval systems using RAG and hybrid/semantic search grounded in the company warehouse • Handle ingestion, chunking, embedding, and freshness work to make retrieval trustworthy • Design and ship agentic workflows, including tool-using assistants and multi-agent systems • Integrate tools and APIs and manage context, session state, memory, caching, and failure behavior • Establish a self-service AI and analytics layer for 200+ internal stakeholders across marketing, sales, operations, product, and finance • Build governance and access controls into AI systems • Create evaluation frameworks, tracing, observability, and monitoring to detect regressions • Implement guardrails and cost controls for AI systems at scale • Establish reusable patterns, shared libraries, deployment templates, and CI/CD • Partner directly with business teams to translate ambiguous problems into scoped technical work • Mentor engineers and set technical direction without direct reports • Ship useful AI workflows and production systems within defined milestones

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of hands-on engineering experience across data and software • 2+ years shipping production LLM/AI systems, including RAG, agents, evals, prompt orchestration, or model-integrated pipelines • Deep foundation in data engineering or applied data science • Strong Python and SQL skills • Experience with modern cloud data warehousing such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or similar • Experience with orchestration such as Airflow, dbt, or similar • Cloud engineering experience; AWS preferred • Comfortable deploying containerized and serverless services and building CI/CD • Track record of designing systems end to end and owning architecture and trade-offs • Demonstrated autonomy in ambiguous environments • Strong systems thinking, including governance, evals, observability, and cost management • Clear communication with technical peers, non-technical stakeholders, and senior leadership • Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship, now and in the future • Experience in healthcare, insurance, fintech, or another regulated domain is an advantage • Knowledge of knowledge graphs and graph databases such as Neo4j and Cypher is an advantage • Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers or comparable tool-integration layers is an advantage • Experience with modern agent and LLM tooling such as LangChain, CrewAI, Strands, Bedrock AgentCore, Anthropic/OpenAI APIs, and Langfuse is an advantage • Experience with vector search tools such as pgvector, Pinecone, Weaviate, or warehouse-native alternatives is an advantage • Infrastructure and delivery experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions is an advantage • Experience building internal tools and UIs with Streamlit or Next.js/React is an advantage • Experience leading a small engineering team or setting technical direction as a senior IC is an advantage • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience is an advantage
