📋 Description

• Design, develop, and optimize production generative AI, RAG, and agentic capabilities using approved Amazon Bedrock services • Evaluate and integrate foundation models based on quality, relevance, latency, reliability, security, and cost • Build and improve RAG pipelines for ingestion, preprocessing, chunking, embeddings, vector search, retrieval, reranking, and context generation • Design agentic workflows combining foundation models, retrieved knowledge, approved tools, and enterprise APIs for bounded multi-step tasks • Develop prompts, structured-output patterns, tool/function-calling interfaces, and guardrail configurations • Establish AI evaluation methods, test datasets, and monitoring for response quality, groundedness, accuracy, safety, tool-use outcomes, latency, reliability, and cost • Develop knowledge-ingestion pipelines for structured and unstructured data while preserving access controls and data-handling requirements • Implement AI security controls including prompt-injection defenses, validation, data protection, audit logging, and human-review workflows • Design and administer AI gateway configurations including model routing, allowlists, service identities, virtual keys, rate limits, budgets, usage attribution, fallback behavior, logging, and guardrails • Develop Python-based AI services, APIs, and integration patterns for backend application services • Partner with platform teams on infrastructure-as-code, deployment, observability, and operational support • Collaborate with backend, front-end, cybersecurity, platform, and identity teams to integrate secure AI capabilities into production applications • Support HII’s mission of delivering cybersecurity, AI, C5ISR, and defense technology solutions for government and commercial customers • Participate in occasional East Coast customer meetings, with less than 10% travel

🎯 Requirements

• Strong Python development experience • Experience building and operating production generative AI, RAG, or AI-enabled applications • Strong understanding of large language models, embeddings, vector search, retrieval patterns, prompt design, structured outputs, and AI service APIs • Experience designing RAG pipelines and integrating models with enterprise data sources, tools, APIs, or application services • Experience developing or evaluating agentic workflows using models, retrieval, and approved tools • Hands-on experience with Amazon Bedrock, Boto3, and AWS cloud services • Experience evaluating and improving AI capabilities for quality, groundedness, latency, reliability, security, and cost • Experience implementing AI security and governance controls, including prompt-injection mitigation, input/output validation, access-control integration, rate limiting, usage monitoring, logging, and data protection • Experience with Git-based development, automated testing, and collaborative software-delivery practices • Active Secret clearance required at time of consideration and must be maintained • Bachelor’s, master’s, PhD, or high school diploma/equivalent with the specified relevant experience for the applicable software-development level • Software Development 3: 5 years relevant experience with bachelor’s; 3 years with master’s; 0 years with PhD; or 9 years with high school diploma/equivalent • Software Development 4: 9 years relevant experience with bachelor’s; 7 years with master’s; 4 years with PhD; or 13 years with high school diploma/equivalent • Must align with Eastern Time Zone core business hours • Must maintain a home work environment meeting company and government security requirements • Must work assigned East Coast core business hours • May require less than 10% travel to East Coast customer meetings • Preferred: 8+ years of experience • Preferred experience with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore or comparable agent-runtime/orchestration platforms • Preferred experience with LiteLLM or comparable AI gateway/model-proxy/AI-governance platforms • Preferred experience in AWS GovCloud or federal, defense, intelligence, or regulated cloud environments • Preferred experience with OpenSearch, pgvector, or comparable vector-search platforms • Familiarity with AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Terraform, or equivalent infrastructure-as-code tools preferred • Familiarity with DoW identity and access-management concepts, Zero Trust, least-privilege IAM, and secure service-to-service communication preferred • Familiarity with DISA STIGs, SRGs, RMF, security-control evidence, continuous monitoring, or vulnerability-remediation workflows preferred • Experience with LangChain, LlamaIndex, MCP-compatible tool integrations, or comparable AI orchestration frameworks preferred • Experience with controlled, sensitive, or regulated data in federal, defense, intelligence, or similarly regulated environments preferred
