📋 Description

• Guide software design and development across multiple engineering teams and principal software engineers • Provide technical leadership, expertise, and best-practice communication across assigned IT portfolios • Interface with third-party vendors to meet technical needs and drive interoperability • Support 4–6 development teams across varied products and APIs • Design and refactor systems to optimize cloud costs • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and optimize codebases • Lead portfolio-level Principal meetings for alignment, consistency, and knowledge sharing • Create reusable foundational code elements across the portfolio • Develop proofs of concept with new technologies and enable portfolio adoption • Monitor cloud-resource usage and drive cost-reduction opportunities • Escalate and resolve extremely complex team challenges • Present at and attend conferences • Provide leadership, mentoring, and coaching to direct reports • Conduct annual and mid-year reviews and provide performance feedback • Attract, retain, develop, and motivate talent • Define technology solutions and contribute to technology roadmaps • Remove roadblocks and bottlenecks across cross-functional projects • Drive thought leadership and innovation • Escalate high-priority issues and outages • Support project, product, and support teams • Resolve technology disputes across local teams • Work with vendors on software-product feature enhancements • Evangelize effective tooling and technology usage

🎯 Requirements

• Must be eighteen years of age or older • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States • Expertise in at least two technologies used by THD IT • Experience with common business processes used in the retail industry • Experience in Agile/Lean development environments • 7 years of relevant work experience • Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in a related field • One field of expertise should include a programming language • Capable of understanding complicated systems quickly • Mastery in assigned domains • Active participation in or leadership of professional groups affiliated with specific domains • 5 years previous leadership experience preferred
