📋 Description

• Lead and develop a team of software engineers through coaching, mentoring, performance management, and career development • Design, build, enhance, and modernize applications, APIs, integrations, and services across multiple technology platforms • Perform hands-on software engineering including coding, architecture, debugging, testing, and code reviews • Establish engineering best practices and maintain high standards for software quality, security, and performance • Drive modernization initiatives, cloud adoption, technical debt reduction, and platform optimization • Partner with architects, product owners, business stakeholders, and peer engineering leaders to define technical solutions and delivery priorities • Implement and promote DevSecOps, CI/CD, automation, monitoring, and operational excellence practices • Champion responsible and effective use of AI-assisted development tools • Support technology strategies preparing legacy systems for future enterprise migration • Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, privacy, and healthcare regulatory requirements • Occasionally travel to Humana offices for training or meetings

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience • 8+ years of software engineering experience building and supporting enterprise applications and distributed systems • Experience leading, mentoring, or managing software engineers in a technical environment • Hands-on expertise with Microsoft technologies, including .NET / C#, SQL Server, RESTful APIs and integrations, and modern software design and architecture practices • Experience developing and deploying solutions in Microsoft Azure • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, source control, automated testing, and DevOps practices • Demonstrated ability to modernize legacy applications and improve operational reliability • Experience performing code reviews and establishing engineering best practices • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills • Ability to operate effectively in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment • Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) • Experience leading cloud transformation or modernization initiatives • Experience with AI-assisted software development tools and code-generation technologies • Familiarity with healthcare, payer, managed care, Medicaid, or regulated industry environments • Experience implementing DevSecOps and security-first engineering practices • Knowledge of HIPAA, PHI handling requirements, and healthcare compliance standards • Experience supporting complex enterprise integrations and third-party platforms • Azure certifications and/or Microsoft technology certifications • Home internet service with at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload • Ability to work from a dedicated space without ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI/HIPAA information
