📋 Description

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise backup and recovery architectures for critical business applications and infrastructure • Engineer scalable, resilient, and secure backup solutions across physical, virtual, cloud, SaaS, and containerized environments • Develop backup standards, recovery procedures, operational runbooks, and engineering documentation • Lead backup platform upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives • Establish recovery service levels, recovery objectives, and testing standards • Administer and engineer IBM Storage Protect, IBM Storage Defender Data Protect, Rubrik Security Cloud, Commvault, and cloud-native backup platforms • Perform platform architecture, capacity planning, performance tuning, security hardening, lifecycle management, troubleshooting, and escalation support • Design and implement cyber recovery and ransomware resilience strategies • Evaluate immutable storage, air-gapped recovery vaults, and cyber recovery technologies • Participate in cyber recovery exercises and validation testing • Provide technical leadership for backup, storage, and recovery architecture initiatives • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend platform improvements • Participate in enterprise architecture reviews and infrastructure design discussions • Define standards, patterns, and best practices for enterprise data protection services • Develop automation for provisioning, reporting, monitoring, and operational workflows using PowerShell, Python, REST APIs, Ansible, or similar tools • Create dashboards and reporting capabilities for operational visibility and compliance • Lead onboarding for business units, applications, and infrastructure platforms entering enterprise backup services • Identify protection gaps, risk exposures, and compliance concerns • Support governance and exception management processes • Collaborate with IBM, Rubrik, Dell, Microsoft, and other technology vendors • Manage vendor escalations and support engagements • Partner with infrastructure, security, cloud, application, and operations teams • Travel occasionally to Humana offices for training or meetings

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience • 7+ years of enterprise backup, storage, or data protection experience • 5+ years of experience with one or more enterprise backup platforms • Experience with IBM Storage Protect, IBM Storage Defender Data Protect, Commvault, Rubrik, or Dell PPDM • Experience designing and supporting large-scale enterprise backup environments • Strong understanding of enterprise storage technologies and infrastructure • Experience supporting VMware, Windows, Linux, and cloud platforms • Experience with scripting and automation • Demonstrated project management experience • Ability to provide high-speed DSL or cable modem internet for a home office • Minimum internet speed of 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload • Satellite and wireless internet service is not allowed • Dedicated workspace without ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information • Preferred: experience with healthcare or highly regulated environments • Preferred: experience supporting Microsoft Azure and GCP workloads • Preferred: knowledge of cyber recovery and ransomware resilience strategies • Preferred: knowledge of Kubernetes and container protection technologies • Preferred: experience with Splunk, monitoring platforms, and operational analytics • Preferred: familiarity with ServiceNow and ITIL practices • Preferred: experience leading technical projects and mentoring junior engineers
