📋 Description

• Own and operate the i3 Platform as an internal product with a published roadmap, prioritized backlog, and regular cadence of shipped capabilities • Develop and execute the technology organization's platform strategy aligned with business goals • Maintain reference architectures based on the i3 Well-Architected Framework in partnership with Solution Architecture • Define and track platform KPIs including self-service ratio, IaC coverage, mean time to provision, policy violation rate, and platform adoption • Manage relationships with cloud service providers and platform tooling vendors • Communicate platform roadmap, KPIs, and investment rationale to senior technology leadership • Maintain consistent operating models, toolchains, and standards across AWS and Azure • Contribute hands-on to architecture decisions, infrastructure code reviews, and complex technical problems • Own and evolve the Terraform and Scalr Infrastructure as Code ecosystem, including module and artifact registries • Develop reference implementations, templates, and accelerators for engineering teams • Drive an “Everything as Code” standard across infrastructure, configuration, policy, security controls, pipelines, and runbooks • Establish enterprise technical standards and implement security and compliance controls at the platform layer • Conduct technical reviews, identify optimization opportunities and technical debt, and lead proof-of-concept initiatives • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing Engineering team • Set performance expectations, conduct calibration, and maintain individual development plans • Recruit, coach, mentor, and develop engineering talent • Own quality standards, templates, and review processes for Cloud Engineers and delivery teams • Partner with Solution Architects, Cybersecurity, and Service Operations • Provide observability tooling for 24x7x365 monitoring and incident response • Champion architectural thinking, technical excellence, continuous improvement, governance, reliability, and efficiency

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline; or equivalent demonstrated experience • 10+ years of progressive experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or DevOps/SRE disciplines • Progression from hands-on engineering into technical leadership • Experience architecting and operating large-scale, production-grade enterprise infrastructure • Experience influencing technical direction and driving platform standards across multiple teams • Experience leading major platform or infrastructure initiatives from concept through delivery • Excellent leadership, people management, verbal communication, and written communication skills • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to translate business objectives into an effective platform strategy • Demonstrated coaching and engineering talent development experience • Deep knowledge of AWS and/or Azure and multi-cloud architecture • Deep knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, including module development, state management, and governance at scale • Mastery of Terraform or comparable tools • Knowledge of networking, security, and infrastructure technologies • Knowledge of SOC2, PCI, HIPAA, FedRAMP, and CJIS compliance frameworks • Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS/AKS, serverless architecture, and integration patterns • Programming proficiency in Python, Golang, or a similar general-purpose language • Experience supporting Linux- and Windows-hosted workloads in cloud environments • Ability to review application code, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD pipelines • Relevant AWS or Azure certifications, or proven Well-Architected Framework expertise • Preferred: Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field • Preferred experience with AWS/Azure parity, multi-team or multi-cloud consolidation, multi-year platform roadmaps, vendor management, architecture review processes, internal developer platforms, Terraform + Scalr, high availability, disaster recovery, FinOps, observability, SRE, incident response, AI-assisted engineering, and AI workload platforms
