📋 Description

• Drive the vision for the VetSoft Analytics Team’s data architecture and lead the team that builds it • Own how data moves from source systems through pipelines and the transformation layer into curated, reporting-ready data products • Oversee the end-to-end ELT landscape, including ingestion, orchestration, scheduling, and monitoring • Lead the design and build-out of the dbt transformation layer • Design and deliver curated datasets for Sigma BI tools and AI agents • Partner with Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Finance to translate business requirements into scalable data models • Establish and enforce data-platform engineering standards, including code review, version control, CI/CD, automated testing, and documentation • Own data governance initiatives including metadata management, data lineage, data quality monitoring, and PII policies • Grow and develop the engineering team

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or data architecture • Demonstrated success leading and developing engineering teams • Expert-level SQL skills • Hands-on experience building transformations in dbt • Strong data modeling ability across relational, semi-structured, and unstructured datasets • Deep experience with cloud data warehousing platforms, with Snowflake strongly preferred • Experience with modern ELT and orchestration tooling • Experience with performance tuning and compute cost optimization • Python or an equivalent scripting language is a plus • Proactive, ownership-oriented mindset • Excellent organizational and project management skills • Intellectual curiosity • Commitment to continuous improvement
