• Independently prepare or review third-party financial accounting, contractual allowances, cost reports, and surveys for assigned facilities and centralized office functions • Perform and review reimbursement processes, including reconciliation of third-party general ledger accounts, contractual allowance and variance calculations, and individual claims monitoring • Interact with HIM, PAS, and hospital finance staff as needed • Prepare monthly Medicare and Medicaid settlement and policy reserve calculations • Prepare or review cost reports and surveys, audit adjustments, and settlements • File appeals and exception requests to maximize reimbursement • Interact with Medicare Administrative Contractors, State Medicaid, and hospital personnel • Mentor staff and coordinate training, direction, and review for reimbursement functions • Manage work scope, deadlines, deliverables, complex projects, schedules, and meetings • Develop, document, and revise system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards • Investigate reimbursement changes and communicate potential impacts • Communicate with site and system financial leadership regarding key financial variables requiring special analysis
• Demonstrated experience in a role requiring data analysis • Computer skills including spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and Internet • Demonstrated experience with third-party financial accounting, contractual allowances, cost reports and surveys • Preferred bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or another business-related field from an accredited institution • Preferred two years’ experience in Medicare, Medicaid, and/or governmental reporting • Ability to work standard business hours, Monday through Friday, with occasional additional hours during peak regulatory filing periods, audits, settlements, budget season, or other critical reimbursement deadlines • Ability to comply with applicable Intermountain policies, confidentiality, information security, work schedules, conflicts of interest, and company equipment requirements • Candidates must not reside or plan to reside in California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, or Washington; Colorado remote caregivers are restricted when their assigned Intermountain facility or service area is not based in Colorado • Video interview through Microsoft Teams required, with potential onsite interviews and meetings
