📋 Description

• Accurately assign and appropriately sequence ICD-10 and CPT codes and all applicable modifiers • Contact clients when medical-record documentation is inadequate, ambiguous, or unclear for coding purposes • Monitor regulatory and payer changes affecting diagnostic and procedure coding • Research and resolve coding-related system edits, payer rejections, and insurance denials • Identify trends in system edits, payer rejections, and insurance denials to improve client policies and procedures • Maintain current knowledge of coding-practice changes through continuing education and resource materials • Perform coding, auditing, quality assurance, and provide coding expertise • Identify process improvements and support onshore revenue-cycle operations to optimize professional-fee billing and revenue capture • Perform other innovative and progressive duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Active, role-aligned coding credential such as CPC, CCS-P, CIC, COC, or CRC • 5+ years of experience in professional medical coding, including advanced orthopedic surgery coding • Strong experience reviewing operative reports, CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, modifiers, NCCI edits, and global surgery guidelines • Experience with Workers' Compensation coding and state/payer-specific requirements • Experience performing coding quality audits, identifying documentation gaps, and resolving complex coding issues • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills • Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) or similar EHR systems • Previous experience as a Senior Coder, Coding Auditor, QA Analyst, or Coding SME strongly preferred • Experience supporting provider documentation queries, coding education, and client-facing discussions preferred • Experience training offshore coding teams during implementation or transition preferred • Ability to coach coders, identify recurring errors, and recommend corrective actions
