📋 Description

• Own the health and reliability of production systems • Define reliability standards for each product • Build observability to detect issues early • Establish incident response ownership, escalation, and on-call processes • Build CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and release automation • Enable fast, stable, repeatable production releases • Own cloud infrastructure across AWS and Google Cloud • Contribute to cloud architecture, capacity, performance, and cost decisions • Manage cloud spending deliberately • Own data-layer reliability and production database performance • Automate and validate backups through real restores • Execute schema and data migrations without downtime or data loss • Own infrastructure security posture • Strengthen cloud environments • Partner with an external penetration-testing provider • Serve as R&D's technical point person for SOC 2 • Implement and maintain R&D-owned SOC 2 controls • Report to engineering leadership on the R&D team • Define the DevOps function and perform the work as a hands-on individual contributor • Participate directly in and design the on-call rotation • Collaborate with the external penetration-testing provider and Legal-led SOC 2 program • Operate with a broad mandate and set direction where structure does not yet exist

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering • Experience building or substantially maturing a DevOps function, ideally as a founding or early DevOps hire or as the person who brought order to an unstructured environment • Deep AWS experience • Solid working knowledge of Google Cloud • Senior-level ownership of production infrastructure, networking, and AWS cost • Mastery of CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code • Experience building deployment pipelines and codifying infrastructure adopted by teams • Production reliability and incident ownership experience • Experience owning uptime and building observability • Database and data-layer operations experience • Experience with production database reliability, automated and tested backups, and schema/data migrations without downtime or data loss • Hands-on cloud security experience with IAM, secrets management, and vulnerability remediation • Experience with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 • Experience in MarTech, analytics, data-infrastructure companies, or large-scale data pipelines is a bonus • Comfort with ambiguity and semi-structured environments • Willingness to build a function and own reliability, delivery, cloud, data, and security • Ability to operate fluently across AWS and Google Cloud
