📋 Description

• Secure access to power for Iron Mountain's expanding data center portfolio. • Determine the pathway to power for new sites, including connection processes, responsible parties, technical criteria, system upgrades, redundancy practices, voltages, and required components. • Lead negotiation of grid connection agreements with local utilities. • Translate utility contracts and grid constraints into operational and commercial impacts for data center projects and customers. • Validate technical aspects of power design and delivery, including upstream system resources. • Own the master timeline for power delivery and coordinate responsibilities and milestones. • Manage the full lifecycle of grid access contracts, including utilization thresholds, commercial risk, and compliance. • Coordinate external technical consultants, utilities, sales teams, construction teams, and project managers. • Monitor utility requirements, underutilization clauses, customer ramp-up timelines, and capacity commitments.

🎯 Requirements

• Knowledge of electrical system components and voltages sufficient to ensure contracts deliver power aligned to the needs of new facilities. • Strong commercial negotiation and process management skills. • Ability to hold cross-functional teams and external utilities accountable to strict timelines. • Experience working across technical engineering, commercial sales, construction, and external utility teams. • Demonstrable experience in energy procurement, utility relations, or infrastructure project management for energy-intensive consumers. • Track record of negotiating directly with utilities or system operators. • Ability to interpret complex grid connection contracts and understand implications for construction timelines and customer ramp-up schedules. • Must be based in the US. • Bachelor's degree in business, electrical engineering, project management, or an energy-related discipline.
