📋 Description

• Design, fabricate, and integrate electrical systems for data center power and cooling products and factory enablement projects • Manage and oversee electrical systems for data centers, energy storage systems, and HVAC applications • Develop specifications, select components, route wires and cables, establish connections, and transition designs to manufacturing • Conduct PLD design and component selection for transformers, breakers, relays, UPS, ATS, and related equipment • Review vendor drawings and prepare BOMs, calculations, data sheets, detailed drawings, specifications, and test plans • Evaluate electrical system operations and recommend modifications to correct malfunctions or accommodate requirement changes • Collaborate on new product design and development of low-voltage switchgear, power distribution cabinets, and LV panel boards • Lead electrical engineering design and reviews • Prepare and review short-circuit coordination studies and maintain software models against as-built site conditions • Review control panel designs and apply UL standards • Evaluate requirements and close gaps between concept and manufacturing readiness • Interface with internal and external mission-critical design engineering, server hardware, environmental health and safety, and controls engineering teams • Work with system architects to understand product specifications and electrical system architecture • Collaborate with project managers on design quotations • Identify and mitigate project risks affecting plans and schedules • Monitor product delivery for quality and schedule adherence • Test, debug, and validate electrical systems and support manufacturing processes • Manage relationships with electrical component vendors and contract manufacturers • Keep current with technologies and methods to maintain competitive, cost-effective designs • Propose R&D project ideas to enhance competency areas • Assess engineering feasibility and cost-effectiveness with management and production staff • Perform other assigned duties

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline • 8+ years of experience in electrical design and fabrication, with a focus on data center or industrial power systems • Proficiency in ECAD tools (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical) and integration with mechanical CAD platforms • Strong understanding of MV/HV power distribution, lithium-ion UPS systems, and three-phase electrical infrastructure • Experience with electrical analysis tools (ETAP, SKM PowerTools, EasyPower) • Proven experience in facility-level electrical design and construction support • Experience with electrical design, fabrication, power distribution products, and equipment testing to current codes and standards • Ability to perform PLD design, component selection, wire and cable sizing and routing, and connections • Ability to perform vendor drawing reviews and prepare BOMs, calculations, data sheets, detailed drawings, specifications, and test plans • Strong understanding of single-line and schematic diagrams • Experience preparing/reviewing short-circuit coordination studies and maintaining software models to match as-built site conditions • Knowledge of control panel design and UL standards • Familiarity with PLCM stage-gate processes • Ability to assess projects, articulate risks, and develop project milestones • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail • Preferred: Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering • Preferred: Active Professional Engineer (PE) license • Preferred: Experience with data center infrastructure, including UPS systems, switchgear, CRAC units, and PDUs • Preferred: Familiarity with UL, CE, RoHS, REACH, and IEEE compliance standards • Preferred: Hands-on experience with panel fabrication, wiring, and system integration • Preferred: Knowledge of thermal and mechanical constraints in electrical enclosure design and experience with global suppliers and contract manufacturers • Preferred: Experience in WindChill and DevOps
