📋 Description

• Own the AI systems layer of Jerry.ai’s consumer product, including LLMs, agents, and internal APIs • Decide what to build next in AI and make the business and technical case • Partner with OpenAI to evaluate and deploy next-generation voice models and workflow automation • Evaluate emerging AI technologies, prototype promising ideas, and determine future investments • Design evaluation frameworks and guardrails for regulated production systems • Balance latency, cost, and accuracy in AI systems • Set the technical direction and architecture standards for chatbot systems • Guide the prompt engineering team and maintain sound architecture as systems scale • Build automations for record disputes, email/callout reduction, and document validation • Work with subject matter experts to convert domain knowledge into reliable systems • Run a high-volume chatbot operation handling more than 50,000 chats per month and over 70% of inbound sales and service requests

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in product engineering or forward deployed engineering, ideally in an early-stage startup • Track record of turning ambiguous problems into systems that run in production • Hands-on experience putting LLM-based systems into production • Experience with evaluations, regressions, latency, cost, and failure handling • Experience evaluating and deploying next-generation voice models and workflow automation • Experience with voicebots, computer-use agents, or consumer AI applications • Ability to design evaluation frameworks and guardrails • Ability to make tradeoffs between latency, cost, and accuracy in a regulated production environment • Ability to build and scale chatbot systems and automations • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. or Canada • Must currently reside in an eligible location: AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, MA, NC, NJ, NV, NY, OR, TN, TX, UT, VA, or Ontario, Canada
