JHU EEHPC is the Energy Efficient High Performance Computing Lab at Johns Hopkins University, led by Tinoosh Mohsenin. The lab focuses on designing medical, health, and wearable devices and developing tiny, energy-efficient wearable and mobile computing systems through cross-layer approaches spanning algorithms, architecture, hardware, and system integration. It applies high-performance computing and artificial intelligence methods to smart health monitoring, robotics, autonomous navigation, and related domains, aiming to revolutionize healthcare, transportation, and public utilities.

📋 Description

• Host and support over 1,600 university and health-system websites and applications across diverse platforms • Lead architecture planning, security, implementation, maintenance, and support for integrated web and database hosting services in public cloud providers • Design and integrate security practices using DevSecOps principles, processes, and tools • Build automation and Infrastructure-as-Code within CI/CD pipelines to enforce cloud infrastructure security • Investigate advancements in artificial intelligence and high-performance computing • Design secure and compliant hosting solutions for AI-developed web applications • Implement and manage project timelines • Collaborate with IT staff, vendors, and customers to accomplish project goals with limited supervisory oversight • Set up highly automated Dev/SecOps pipelines to meet compliance requirements • Provide DevOps operational support when required • Deploy and improve Dev/SecOps solutions as developer needs, infrastructure, and security standards change • Research ways to automate and improve development and release processes • Develop automated methods to protect web systems and applications from cybersecurity threats • Engage software engineers and developers on application security and site reliability improvements • Monitor trends and evaluate new frameworks, technologies, and processes

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree, or permitted education/experience equivalency beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent • Eight years of related work experience with computer systems and applications • Deep understanding of complex cloud infrastructure and networking, with focus on high availability and security • Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services cloud management and administration • Experience with environment provisioning, configuration, performance monitoring, and information security • Proven experience delivering large-scale infrastructure deployments and cloud-native applications using Infrastructure-as-Code and GitOps technologies • Experience with Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep • Experience setting up development operations and CI/CD pipelines • Familiarity with Git, GitHub, Azure DevOps Pipelines, npm, composer, Azure Container Registry, Azure Repos, monitoring tools, and process automation • Familiarity with Git workflows, branching, and tagging best practices • Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, kubectl, and Docker • Experience managing relational and NoSQL database systems • Experience with backend CMS hosting and management, including WordPress, Drupal, or Laravel • Expertise with cross-platform development tools and techniques • Ability to develop automated Dev/SecOps pipelines meeting compliance requirements • Experience with cloud platforms, storage, databases, DevOps/CI-CD/source control, networking, web, and infrastructure technologies listed in the preferred qualifications • Ability to work Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm • Ability to participate in on-call support • Successful completion of a pre-employment background check
