JHU EEHPC is the Energy Efficient High Performance Computing Lab at Johns Hopkins University, led by Tinoosh Mohsenin. The lab focuses on designing medical, health, and wearable devices and developing tiny, energy-efficient wearable and mobile computing systems through cross-layer approaches spanning algorithms, architecture, hardware, and system integration. It applies high-performance computing and artificial intelligence methods to smart health monitoring, robotics, autonomous navigation, and related domains, aiming to revolutionize healthcare, transportation, and public utilities.

📋 Description

• Oversee technical, programmatic, and administrative aspects of Attendance as a Vital Sign (AVS), a national program addressing health and social drivers of chronic absence • Mentor staff and oversee teams • Lead domestic technical assistance, coaching, trainings, workshops, and district-level program support • Lead AVS technical work and initiatives independently • Envision, design, and initiate new program activities aligned with program goals • Produce and edit documents, work plans, reports, and presentations • Lead budget development, resource allocation, staffing, and level-of-effort planning • Facilitate collaboration among program, finance, and administrative staff • Engage with internal and external partners and ensure compliance with JHU and donor policies • Use data to inform strategies, work plans, and program direction • Design and manage team structures; supervise, coach, mentor, orient, and train staff • Conduct quarterly check-ins and annual performance reviews with supervisees • Oversee staff work quality and develop quality-assurance processes and tools • Lead high-level strategy design and implementation • Build staff capacity through strategies, toolkits, communication materials, scripts, job aids, and needs assessments • Plan research, monitoring, and evaluation activities with AVS faculty • Demonstrate technical expertise in school information systems, evidence-based school attendance practices, and relevant health areas • Lead center-wide initiatives, proposal development, strategic partnerships, and donor cultivation • Represent Johns Hopkins University at external meetings and events • Collaborate with programs across JHU and address strategic factors affecting AVS • Pursue leadership and management development and complete required training • Other duties may be assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Master’s Degree in a related field • Six years of related program management experience in public health or medicine • Additional education may substitute for required experience under the JHU equivalency formula • Leadership in a technical area preferred • Management expertise preferred • Ability to independently lead technical, programmatic, and administrative work • Experience or capability in strategy design, implementation, proposal development, partnership development, and donor cultivation • Technical expertise in relevant areas such as school information systems, evidence-based school attendance practices, or health areas • Ability to lead trainings, workshops, presentations, technical assistance, and coaching • Supervisory, coaching, mentoring, staff development, and performance-review responsibilities • Compliance with JHU supervisory policies • Ability to complete at least two JHU training courses related to job duties per year • Successful candidates are subject to a pre-employment background check • Johns Hopkins faculty, staff, and students must receive the seasonal flu vaccine, subject to religious or medical exceptions
