📋 Description

• Own matters day to day by scoping, budgeting, directing timekeepers, and maintaining validated plans • Serve as primary client contact on most matters and escalate when risk, budget, or strategy shifts • Draft and argue motions • Take and defend depositions • Manage discovery • Carry matters to hearing or trial as a strong second chair and developing or actual first chair • Mentor junior attorneys and paralegals • Improve matter plans, templates, technology, or legal products with at least one concrete improvement per week • Maintain timekeeping, service commitments, budgets, and on-plan execution • Identify and document adjacent legal needs • Run disciplined alignment conversations regarding scope, timeline, and expectations • Maintain proactive client outreach • Handle high-exposure business litigation, real estate development disputes, contested mortgage foreclosure, construction litigation, and complex commercial matters

🎯 Requirements

• JD + active Florida Bar • 5+ years of litigation experience, commercial preferred, with evidence of sound judgment under pressure • Strong advocacy: motions, depositions, hearings, negotiation, strategy • Ability to act independently while collaborating within a structured system • Comfort making fast decisions without hand-holding • Natural persuasion, strong communication, and a confident presence • A track record of managing matters independently — budget discipline, accurate scoping, and reliable delivery without daily supervision • Ability to act decisively while working inside a structured system and improve that system • Analytical rigor: form positions from facts and evidence and defend them • Clear, direct communication with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and team • Comfort delegating real work and following up • First-chair trial or appellate experience preferred • Experience in complex commercial, class action, consumer, or eminent domain litigation preferred
