📋 Description

• Lead the Caplyta Central regional Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team in providing scientific, clinical, research, and educational support to healthcare professionals and internal partners. • Partner with the MSL Head to set regional strategy, priorities, measurable objectives, and execution plans. • Conduct routine strategy reviews with MSL direct reports using data, insights, AI tools, and performance trends. • Coach, support, develop, and observe MSL direct reports, including scientific acumen, presentation skills, stakeholder influence, communication, and scientific storytelling. • Execute field Medical Affairs programs, including product launches, proactive initiatives, and healthcare professional engagement. • Ensure collection, analysis, and communication of actionable Medical Insights to inform strategy, evidence generation, and lifecycle planning. • Coordinate with Medical Affairs, Scientific Affairs, and cross-functional partners to align objectives and execution. • Recommend solutions to the MSL Head using critical thinking, risk assessment, and sound judgment. • Provide oversight for regulatory and healthcare compliance, ethical decision-making, accountability, and integrity across the team. • Manage regional team performance through field visits, 1:1s, coaching, feedback, training, development, capacity planning, metrics, and dashboards. • Ensure MSL territory plans are strategic, current, and actionable. • Recruit, retain, and develop a diverse, high-performing team, including succession and career planning. • Complete administrative duties such as expense approvals, metric reports, compliance documentation, and operational reporting. • Lead cross-functional scientific projects, programs, business planning, proactive initiatives, and company initiatives. • Translate field intelligence into strategic recommendations and develop field scientific strategies aligned with medical priorities and lifecycle needs. • Travel regionally approximately 60%, including overnight travel and periodic national scientific congresses and corporate meetings.

🎯 Requirements

• A minimum of a master’s degree is required. • PharmD, PhD, or MD highly preferred. • Minimum of 8 years required. • Minimum of 4 years of pharmaceutical industry experience required. • Minimum of 2 years of MSL experience required. • Previous people management responsibility required. • Clinical/research experience preferred. • Therapeutic-area-related experience preferred. • Proficiency in data gathering and analysis, clinical expertise, problem solving, interpersonal influence, cross-functional collaboration, strategic thinking, and competitive landscape analysis. • Must live in the assigned region and in close proximity to an airport. • Ability to travel regionally approximately 60%, including overnight travel, national scientific congresses, and strategic/scientific meetings. • Valid US driver’s license. • Commitment to learning and applying emerging technologies such as AI. • Experience building team AI literacy and confidence, reinforcing trusted and responsible AI use and sound judgment.
