• Manage clinical data sets and clinical workflows for chronic disease use cases • Develop data extraction programs, data sets, and reports for terminology and health data standards gap analysis • Develop, evaluate, refine, and maintain coded value sets for clinical reminder taxonomies and templates • Review, refine, and update clinical and health data domain taxonomies • Support clinical application and product development across analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, deployment, maintenance, quality assurance, troubleshooting, and upgrades • Develop project reports and documents based on data analysis • Collaborate with developers and agile teams on clinical reminder templates, documentation templates, clinical pathways, performance measurements, and protocols in electronic health record systems • Map source terms to target terminology and data messaging standards for healthcare data exchange and integration • Gather and document business requirements, clinical workflows, and system configuration requirements • Develop and maintain SOPs, process documents, business rules, reference guides, and related customer documentation • Collaborate with data scientists and domain experts to design NLP-based data processing solutions • Provide project statuses and customer updates using dashboards, presentations, graphs, and deliverables • Identify complex health data issues, policy priorities, root causes, workflow inefficiencies, and design failures; recommend solutions to program managers and customers • Perform additional tasks supporting customer requests and project objectives
• 5–9 years of experience required • Prior clinical experience and healthcare background required • Master’s degree, or bachelor’s degree plus 2 years relevant experience, or associate degree plus 4 years relevant experience required • Degree in Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Health Informatics, Computer Science, Computer Programming, Information Systems, or related scientific discipline • Experience with VA EHR platforms CPRS, VistA, and/or Oracle Health/Cerner Millennium • Experience with Agile methodology, Scrum, and SAFe • Experience evaluating, creating, and maintaining data dictionaries, controlled vocabularies, schema governance, and taxonomy data models • Strong written communication and technical/process documentation skills • Analytical and problem-solving skills for complex clinical data analysis • Familiarity with SQL, Python, or R • Knowledge of SNOMED CT, LOINC, RxNorm, HL7, FHIR, CDA, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, HEDIS measures, OWL, and NLP • Strong informatics and computer skills for complex clinical data analysis • Excellent attention to detail • Ability to understand complex verbal instructions, research solutions independently, and meet tight deadlines • Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities • Effective written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work independently and collaboratively • Ability to communicate complex ideas and solutions clearly • Must be located in one of the hiring states: AZ, CO, FL, GA, ID, IL, MD, MI, SC, TX, VA, or WI • Must have high-speed internet sufficient for video conferencing
