📋 Description

• Analyze and interpret engineering drawings/schematics to understand procurement and manufacturing requirements • Source and purchase machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging materials, parts, services and/or supplies • Compile and analyze statistical data to assess purchasing feasibility and establish price objectives • Monitor price trends and manufacturing processes • Confer with suppliers and analyze supplier operations to determine pricing factors • Determine lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability and required schedules • Review proposals, negotiate prices, select or recommend suppliers, analyze trends, follow up on orders, verify delivery, approve payment and maintain records • Prepare bid packages • Represent the organization on specific projects and maintain frequent internal and external contacts • Prepare proposal requests consistent with contract requirements • Develop new sources of supply based on quality, on-time delivery and competitive pricing • Solicit and award purchase orders consistent with contract requirements • Participate in departmental and company-wide process improvements and lean initiatives

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience, or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience • Experience with purchasing, supply chain, or related experience in a manufacturing environment • Knowledge of Supply Chain principles and concepts in defense contracting • Knowledge of procurement processes of military grade products • Knowledge of International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Acquisition Regulations (DFAR) • Experience purchasing electronics, custom metal fabricated parts, cable and wiring harnesses, and/or complex electrical components and assemblies • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookup tables • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to analyze and interpret engineering drawings/schematics • Must be a self-starter
