📋 Description

• Lead and develop a team of senior engineers, providing coaching, feedback, and career growth opportunities • Own prioritization and intake for the SDK portfolio across 35+ SDKs and the Relay Proxy • Balance feature work, maintenance, security, and customer escalations • Partner with Product Management to define and deliver the SDK and Relay Proxy roadmap • Guide technical tradeoffs across languages and platforms • Ensure SDKs remain idiomatic, performant, and resilient • Represent SDK engineering with customers, Support, Solutions, and Sales • Communicate roadmaps, risks, and progress to engineering leadership • Drive operational excellence in release quality, observability, and incident response • Build team working norms that promote collaboration and reduce silos • Participate in hiring to grow the team and raise the engineering bar

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a formal engineering management role, including managing senior engineers • Experience leading teams that build developer-facing software: SDKs, client libraries, public APIs, or open-source projects used by external developers • Working familiarity with several programming languages and ecosystems • Judgment to guide technical tradeoffs in a polyglot codebase • Proven ability to prioritize across many stakeholders and partner with Product Management • Ability to translate business goals into engineering plans with reliable estimates • Track record of coaching and developing senior engineers, including performance management, career growth planning, and technical mentorship • Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including customers • Familiarity with observability practices and comfort with production incident response • Experience contributing to or maintaining open-source software is a plus
