📋 Description

• Lead the design and delivery of large or ambiguous end-to-end initiatives across frontend and backend systems • Develop customer-facing product experiences with TypeScript and React, plus services and APIs using Go, Python, or comparable tools • Translate customer problems and product goals into technical designs, tradeoffs, and incremental delivery plans • Own work from discovery and design through implementation, launch, measurement, operational support, and iteration • Partner with Product, Design, Data, Staff Engineers, Engineering Managers, and adjacent teams • Balance usability, accessibility, performance, reliability, security, cost, and time to value • Establish patterns and practices that improve consistency, maintainability, developer experience, and quality • Improve observability and operational health and participate in incident response when needed • Influence architecture and technical direction through design documents, code reviews, and technical discussions • Mentor engineers and help teammates grow their technical judgment and product instincts • Represent customer needs and production realities in cross-functional decisions and connect technical work to measurable outcomes

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of experience building and operating production web applications • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects across frontend and backend layers, including ambiguous requirements or cross-team dependencies • Strong experience with a modern frontend framework such as React and a typed language such as TypeScript, or equivalent experience • Strong backend experience designing or operating APIs, services, data stores, or asynchronous systems in a production environment • Experience with Go, Python, Rust, or an equivalent backend language; most teams use Go • Sound judgment across architecture, user experience, accessibility, performance, reliability, security, and maintainability tradeoffs • Strong product instincts and ability to connect technical decisions to customer outcomes and business goals • Ability to create alignment through clear communication and inclusive decision-making • Experience mentoring engineers, improving team practices, and raising technical execution quality • Strong ownership of the full lifecycle of systems and experiences • Comfort learning unfamiliar systems and navigating changing priorities • Must be based in the United States
