📋 Description

• Lead the design, development, integration, and implementation of enterprise IaaS solutions supporting private cloud SDDC modernization initiatives • Serve as the technical authority for VMware-based private cloud infrastructure • Lead and coordinate Platform, Network, Firewall, and Backup & Recovery engineering disciplines • Develop enterprise infrastructure architectures supporting ECS, CPS, IaaS, DevOps, and SMC • Design and implement virtualization solutions using VMware Cloud Foundation, ESXi, vSphere, vCenter, vSAN, NSX, and AVI • Lead Infrastructure as Code and infrastructure automation implementation using Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Python, or equivalent technologies • Collaborate with infrastructure, cybersecurity, and DevOps engineering teams on enterprise integration • Lead cross-functional engineering reviews covering automation, platform configuration, networking, security controls, and backup solutions • Manage the infrastructure engineering backlog, user stories, acceptance criteria, prioritization, and Agile delivery • Develop and maintain the IaaS engineering roadmap and track dependencies, milestones, and architectural decisions in Jira • Resolve cross-functional engineering blockers and dependencies • Partner with Scrum Masters and Product Owners on backlog refinement, sprint planning, estimation, reviews, release planning, and roadmap execution • Monitor execution through Jira dashboards, Agile metrics, and dependency tracking • Integrate COTS infrastructure technologies into secure enterprise environments compliant with NATO policies and engineering standards • Develop infrastructure architectures, engineering designs, implementation strategies, technical standards, documentation, and reference architectures • Participate in Agile development activities, architecture reviews, governance, backlog prioritization, and technical collaboration • Mentor senior engineers and establish engineering standards, automation strategies, best practices, and technical governance • Provide technical oversight for infrastructure implementation and ensure integrated delivery consistent with approved architecture and customer requirements • Support infrastructure modernization, technical planning, architecture strategy, customer engagements, and proposal development

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline with 10–15 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 8–12 years of relevant experience • Active NATO Secret clearance or higher • Experience leading multidisciplinary infrastructure engineering teams including platform, networking, cybersecurity, and data protection engineers • Experience in secure or regulated environments using automated provisioning and DevOps tools • Extensive experience designing and implementing VMware-based private cloud and SDDC environments • Strong experience with VMware Cloud Foundation, ESXi, vSphere, vCenter, vSAN, and NSX • Extensive experience implementing Infrastructure as Code and infrastructure automation using Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Python, or similar technologies • Understanding of enterprise compute, virtualization, storage, networking, disaster recovery, cyber resilience, and infrastructure engineering principles • Experience integrating infrastructure with networking, firewall, backup and recovery, identity management, and cloud services • Experience leading Agile engineering teams using Jira, including user stories, backlog management, sprint planning, roadmap management, dependency tracking, blocker resolution, and release planning • Understanding of infrastructure automation and physical implementation methodologies, including deployment planning, system integration, technical validation, and customer acceptance • Experience with Agile, SAFe, or DevSecOps delivery frameworks • Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder engagement, mentoring, and technical collaboration skills • Experience supporting defence, government, or highly regulated development environments • Approximately 25% travel to The Hague, Netherlands, and other NATO locations • VMware certifications such as VCP, VCAP, VCF, or equivalent are preferred • Experience with VMware Aria Suite, HCX, SRM, HPE/Dell enterprise compute, storage platforms, SAN technologies, hybrid cloud, and large-scale infrastructure modernization is preferred
