📋 Description

• Lead and design microgrid and renewable energy projects • Utilize microgrid control systems and automation technologies, including SCADA, EMS, IEDs, HMIs, and RTUs • Apply microgrid concepts including islanding, grid-connected operation, energy management, control strategies, and power flow management • Participate in Functional Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) • Perform Hardware in the Loop (HIL) testing • Apply knowledge of renewable energy technologies including solar PV, wind turbines, batteries, and other DERs • Apply power electronics knowledge to renewable energy systems and microgrids, including inverters and converters • Perform planning and engineering for telecommunication systems and projects • Establish project schedules and budgets • Develop drawings and specifications for utility telecommunication system projects • Coordinate with internal engineering departments, external contractors, and utility construction crews • Travel to project sites to collect information on existing conditions • Interface with utility clients

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) • Four to eight plus years of related microgrid experience • Strong knowledge of microgrids and renewable energy • Power system Protection and Control (P&C) experience • Ability to quickly learn and effectively use a variety of client software applications and databases • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook • Ability to occasionally perform field work in rough terrain to access remote project locations • Proficiency with CAD software for electrical system design • Experience with simulation tools for modeling and analysis • Experience with programming languages commonly used in microgrid control systems • Knowledge of communication protocols including DNP, SEL, MMS, and Modbus • Experience with system modeling software such as ASPEN, CAPE, CYME, ETAP, and SKM • Experience with DNP3, Modbus, IEC 61131 Programming, AcSELerator RTAC, SEL 5030 Quickset, GE Cimplicity, and Protocol Test Software preferred • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification favorable • Master’s degree in a related field favorable
