• Maintain continuous learning and the highest level of technical expertise in the assigned therapeutic area • Engage in scientific exchange and provide unbiased, accurate, current medical and scientific information to customers • Establish trusted relationships with scientific and clinical experts • Spend the majority of time on customer-facing activities • Serve as a primary interface between Lilly Medical and scientific/clinical experts • Connect experts with Lilly resources and internal business partners • Facilitate collaborative research and external opportunities • Develop, implement, and evaluate a strategic territory plan • Prioritize core MSL activities and take accountability for territory results • Coordinate compliantly with other Lilly field roles sharing customers • Use territory analytics for customer identification and routing prioritization • Synthesize and communicate actionable customer and clinical insights to internal medical and cross-functional teams • Cultivate internal networks and collaborate across functions with field-based colleagues • Escalate issues as appropriate and make sound decisions • Contribute to team goals and act as an effective teammate • Execute the role in compliance with applicable requirements, procedures, and laws
• Advanced degree in health sciences (e.g., PharmD, MD, PhD in a medically related field) required • 2-3 years of relevant clinical or therapeutic area experience desired • Masters or bachelor’s level degree in health sciences (e.g., BSN, RPh, PA, NP) considered if 5 or more years clinical, research or industry experience in relevant therapeutic area is present • Valid US driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis • No support or sponsorship for work authorization or visas • Ability to travel up to 80% • Ability to work up to 4 to 6 weekends a year • Live near a transport hub (airport/train station) • Intellectual curiosity about the field of science/medicine • Learning agility to comprehend and communicate complex scientific content clearly and concisely • Self-directed and able to work alone in the field while managing multiple priorities and projects • Advanced presentation and computer skills with expertise in literature identification • Strategic and critical thinking skills to analyze, assess, and evaluate information • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to use field-based electronic or other communication tools • Resiliency in managing complex challenges • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, including emotional intelligence and professional relationship building • Geographically located in or close to Chicago, Illinois, with access to an airport or train station • Experience servicing customer needs for complex information • Significant experience in professional networking • Hematology therapeutic area experience strongly preferred
