📋 Description

• Manage a workload of Short-Term Disability claims and associated leaves • Conduct initial and ongoing interviews with claimants • Obtain and review medical records • Make timely and ethical claim determinations • Communicate with claimants, employers, and medical professionals by phone and email • Gather information regarding Short-Term Disability claims, Family Medical Leaves, and state benefits when applicable • Collaborate with case managers, nurse case managers, and consulting physicians • Review complex medical records to determine approval durations and plan future actions • Complete accurate financial calculations consistent with company and state guidelines • Complete thorough training to develop skills for the role

🎯 Requirements

• High School diploma or GED • 1-2 years of experience in claims, leaves, or customer service • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Excellent organization skills with the ability to multi-task • Experience with disability and/or absence management claims • Strong mathematical skills for payment calculations (nice to have) • Relocation assistance is not available • Must meet applicable work authorization requirements (E-Verify employer)
