β’ Represent Livestock Marketing Association and Livestock Marketing Insurance Agency to member and potential-member livestock auction markets and affiliated businesses in the assigned region β’ Solicit livestock auction markets, dealers, order buyers, and allied livestock marketing businesses for LMA membership β’ Maintain customer relationships to retain membership β’ Act as liaison between members and LMA regarding industry issues and membership dues β’ Participate in lobbying efforts and regulatory and legislative activities to influence livestock-industry policy β’ Develop and maintain relationships with allied livestock organizations and regulatory officials β’ Conduct on-site animal-handling assessments and advise on employee training and business policy β’ Organize and serve as executive secretary for state affiliate LMA organizations β’ Sell and maintain insurance products and customer accounts β’ Maintain knowledge of insurance policy content and monitor coverage changes and renewals β’ Mediate and facilitate between claims and insureds when claims issues arise β’ Provide complete and timely insurance documentation to customer service representatives β’ Promote and advocate for the livestock marketing industry β’ Travel extensively throughout the assigned region by automobile and airplane
β’ Aptitude for or experience in sales β’ Self-starter who can operate effectively individually β’ Strong drive for results and analytical abilities β’ Strategic planning and effective organizational skills β’ Strong engagement and communication skills β’ Ability to collaborate and influence in a team environment β’ Resourceful and adaptable β’ Ability to serve as a trusted advisor to members, insurance clients, and colleagues β’ Livestock industry experience preferred β’ Must obtain required insurance licenses to sell and service insurance products in the assigned region β’ Employer-paid licensing requirements and related pre-licensing classes β’ Ability to sit for many hours during extensive car travel β’ Ability to safely maneuver livestock handling areas and stairs β’ Ability to perform occasional moderate lifting β’ Availability during core hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. β’ Extensive automobile and airplane travel required β’ Valid driver's license required β’ Minimum bachelor's degree or four years of work experience
