📋 Description

• Assign and sequence ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes for inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory, emergency room, and specialty patient records • Abstract essential clinical data for tracking, reporting, reimbursement, regulatory, and compliance requirements • Key, bill, and collect for assigned client databases • Review and analyze medical records for documentation deficiencies • Accurately reflect diagnoses and procedures in medical records • Review charges, ensure accuracy, and check medical necessity for tests and procedures • Communicate with providers, staff, leadership, and hospital departments to obtain adequate documentation • Perform timely follow-up on accounts on hold • Verify patient account, type, and demographic data and coordinate corrections with Patient Access • Meet Revenue Integrity Coding department productivity standards • Support continuous quality improvement efforts • Participate in continuing education activities

🎯 Requirements

• At least one year of professional coding work experience • Nationally recognized coding certificate: CCA, CCS, CPC or AAPC certification required • Knowledge and understanding of ICD 10 CM and CPT 4 coding guidelines and practices • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail • Self-starter with critical thinking skills and ability to set priorities • Ability to function as part of a team and independently • Commitment to confidentiality • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations professionally • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software • Residence in one of the approved states: Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, Minnesota, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, or Washington • Passing pre-employment criminal background, reference, drug, health and immunizations, and physical demand screenings
