📋 Description

• Operate, maintain, and repair company railway maintenance and inspection equipment • Operate Loram on-track MOW equipment and/or on-track vehicles under supervision in operating and travel modes • Work across various equipment platforms according to business needs • Lead comprehensive job briefings during operations shifts, maintenance shifts, and maintenance tasks • Follow safe work processes, procedures, and rules • Understand and explain on-track safety requirements • Locate emergency equipment and demonstrate correct operation • Conduct machine inspections to identify problems, defects, changes, and hazards • Communicate machine conditions to operators or supervisors • Perform common repairs as instructed • Provide accurate feedback to support maintenance decisions • Record and report common parts used, including floor stock • Perform maintenance and repairs according to schedules and policies • Describe gauge and HMI functions related to machine operation • Complete daily field reports, personal expense reports, field lodging reports, and other administrative reporting

🎯 Requirements

• Internal candidates: 3+ months’ experience working with Loram equipment or equivalent in a 24/7 environment • External candidates: 2+ years of demonstrated technical skills in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and machine operations • External candidates: 2+ years of demonstrated ability to learn, communicate verbally and in writing, and learn best practices • Maintain railroad certifications, CPR/First Aid certification, and a valid driver’s license • 1+ year of experience operating heavy equipment such as a backhoe or excavator • Heavy maintenance/construction equipment maintenance experience • Basic computer administration skills • Working knowledge of data systems and remote equipment operations, cellular or tethered • Aurora: minimum 1 year of computer or technology background • 1 year of working knowledge with MS Windows • Preferred radiation experience • Commercial Driver’s License or ability to obtain a Class B license • Meet all relevant or applicable pre-qualifications in the role description and Loram’s career development matrix • Successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination and role-specific assessments, which may include DOT physical exam, regulated DOT DS/BAT, HPE, and audiogram • Successfully complete an eVerifile/eRailSafe background check • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license; pass MVR checks upon hire and annually • Successfully pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test • Ability to travel 100%, including internationally • Ability to meet the physical, visual, auditory, cognitive, analytical, and reasoning demands of the role
