📋 Description

• Provide strategic legal guidance on complex regulatory matters impacting Marqeta’s card issuing platform • Advise on laws and regulations governing prepaid, debit, and credit card products, including EFTA/Regulation E, Durbin/Regulation II, TILA/Regulation Z, and card network rules • Ensure the integrity and compliance of Marqeta’s financial products • Partner with cross-functional teams to assess legal risks and recommend mitigation strategies • Support the launch of new products and features • Monitor regulatory developments • Collaborate with sponsor banks and customers • Manage outside counsel as needed • Drive complex legal projects to completion

🎯 Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience practicing law in fintech, banking, or at a reputable law firm • Deep expertise in the payments ecosystem • JD degree required • Active State Bar membership required • Excellent communication skills • Collaborative, proactive approach • Strong business acumen • Advanced problem-solving skills • Ability to drive complex projects to completion in a fast-paced environment
