• Manage timberland assets in New Hampshire and Maine, focusing primarily on northern hardwood forest management • Maintain service-oriented relationships with MIMT and MIMFM personnel and uphold client fiduciary obligations • Follow stewardship policies and practices for water quality, soils, invasive species, and SFI/FSC certification compliance • Maintain and strengthen relationships with contractors, timber market personnel, recreation groups, conservation organizations, communities, Indigenous communities, elected officials, adjacent landowners, and government representatives • Lead stakeholder engagement and community outreach efforts • Support budgeting and planning for forest management activities • Represent MIMFM to public, industry, peers, associations, and regulatory entities • Lead and supervise area employees and consulting personnel • Oversee safety procedures for personnel, contractors, and property assets • Direct timber harvesting operations, including planning, harvest layout, contract administration, timber security, quality inspections, and reporting • Market timber products and manage delivery logistics, harvest volumes, timber specifications, and market opportunities • Prescribe, schedule, and implement silvicultural operations • Plan and oversee road building and road maintenance • Maintain conservation easement compliance, annual operating plans, monitoring meetings, and recreational trail use agreements • Address trespass, encroachments, illegal activities, and environmental issues • Oversee consultant field activities • Seek eligible non-timber income opportunities • Lead communications relating to stakeholder engagement, community relations, public affairs, media inquiries, and forest management • Report operational status, markets, stewardship activities, risks, safety, budgets, and property highlights • Participate in acquisitions, land sales, special projects, and company strategies • Plan and lead property tours for clients, stakeholders, and MFM peers
• Bachelor’s degree in forestry or equivalent experience • Minimum of five years of career experience • Organizational and team supervision experience desirable • Proficiency in Northern Hardwood, Spruce, Fir, and mixed cover type forest management • Knowledge and experience with management cost and return expectations, discounted cash flow analysis, harvest administration, and timber marketing • Valid driver’s license and ability to be insured with the company’s commercial carrier • Maintain State of New Hampshire Licensed Forester status • Strong computer and analytical skills • Proficiency with Microsoft Office365 • GIS skills • Knowledge of, or ability to learn and apply, key financial concepts to business decisions • Service-oriented approach from a fiduciary perspective • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders • Ability to facilitate productive discussions, manage sensitive issues, and communicate complex forest management objectives to varied audiences • Strong experience in community engagement, public outreach, stakeholder relations, and collaborative problem solving
