📋 Description

• Design and implement scalable backend services, APIs, and data models supporting communications, experimentation, and personalization use cases • Deliver well-scoped projects end-to-end, from technical design through production rollout • Collaborate with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and Analysts to translate growth strategies into technical solutions • Contribute to architectural decisions with a focus on scalability, reliability, and maintainability • Produce clear technical documentation to support asynchronous collaboration • Follow established engineering standards around security, observability, testing, and performance • Operate with a high degree of autonomy in a cross-functional environment • Deliver high-quality systems quickly without people management responsibilities

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building backend systems in production environments • Proficiency in backend languages such as Python or Kotlin, or similar • Experience working with AWS or another major cloud provider • Solid understanding of distributed systems and service-oriented architectures • Proven ability to deliver complex backend features independently • Comfortable working remotely with cross-functional partners in an async-first environment • Ability to ramp up quickly in an existing codebase and deliver value within a short-term engagement • Familiarity with event-driven architectures and streaming systems, for example Kafka or Kinesis (nice to have) • Experience with experimentation platforms such as A/B testing or feature flags (nice to have) • Exposure to large-scale personalization, messaging, or growth-focused systems (nice to have)
