📋 Description

• Build and scale Meadow Pay, Meadow's student financial engagement platform • Lead end-to-end development of product features from design through deployment and ongoing support • Architect and build scalable backend services and APIs using TypeScript/Node.js • Contribute to frontend development using modern frameworks, preferably React • Design systems with reliability, observability, and maintainability in mind • Collaborate with Product, Design, CX, and Integrations teams to deliver customer-facing functionality • Participate in code reviews and uphold high standards for code quality and system design • Improve engineering processes, tooling, and documentation to support scale • Shape technical decisions and engineering culture as the company grows • Use AI tooling as a core part of the team's daily development workflow • Report to Mike, Meadow's Engineering Manager

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ Years of Experience in Product Engineering • Experience building and operating production systems at scale • Experience with TypeScript/Node.js backend services and APIs • Experience with modern frontend frameworks; React preferred • Experience using AI tooling such as Cursor, Claude, or Codex in software development workflows • Ability to design reliable, observable, maintainable, scalable systems • Strong technical judgment and high standards for code quality and system design • Ability to own problems and make consequential technical decisions independently • Operational excellence in stability, performance, and scalability of business-critical systems • Strong product sense, including empathy, creativity, and high quality standards • Technical depth in design, architecture, problem solving, tooling, verification, and technical debt management • AI fluency, including intentional tool selection, output validation, testing, review, and mitigation • Ability to facilitate cross-pod discussions and guide debates to consensus • Ability to collaborate across Product, Design, CX, Sales, and Engineering • Early-stage startup experience is a standout qualification • FinTech or other regulated-industry experience is a standout qualification • People management and/or technical lead experience is a standout qualification • Must be based in the United States • Must not require visa sponsorship for employment in the United States
