• Represent Medtronic as device specialist during surgical procedures, ensuring equipment and products are available and providing technical support, device selection, programming, and testing • Manage patients through all phases of the clinical process and educate them on Medtronic product features and benefits • Provide clinical support during surgeries, re-programmings, troubleshooting, and follow-ups in hospitals and clinics • Educate and train physicians, hospital personnel, and office staff on products and therapies • Respond promptly and professionally to device-related inquiries from customers and patients • Manage inventory for case coverage, including product transactions, cycle counts, retrievals, and expiration/hold controls • Contribute to quarterly district, regional, and national goals through collaboration and communication with leadership • Maintain knowledge of competitive products and visit accounts to build relationships with healthcare providers and office staff • Place customer-service orders for pending purchase orders and product replacement; collect case purchase orders with materials management • Assist management and Sales Training in educating and training new district employees • Mentor Associate Clinical Specialists • Complete therapy, corporate compliance, and other required trainings • Travel within the district and occasionally to other districts to cover cases • Manage business expenses and budgets effectively
• High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 6 years of clinical or medical sales experience; or Associate's degree with a minimum of 4 years; or Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years • Bachelor's degree in a health care related field preferred • Master's degree preferred • Registered nurse or HCP experience in a sterile environment preferred • Clinical experience with implantable neurological products and patient care preferred • Experience servicing medical personnel on product use preferred • Experience with a medical device or pharmaceutical company and clinical experience in neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, operating room, pain management, or home health care preferred • Understanding of basic reimbursement and the healthcare environment • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work under pressure • Ability to use healthcare universal precautions • Ability to serve as primary resource for scheduled and unscheduled clinical events, including weekends, evenings, nights, and overnight travel • Ability to work efficiently and autonomously with little direction outside clinical events • Ability to attend national and district meetings and training • Ability to wear a 7–9 lb protective lead apron for extended periods • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs • Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk for 8+ hours per day; bend/stoop, squat, and balance frequently • Specific close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and focus-adjustment abilities • Valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance policy; driving record will be reviewed • Ability to drive approximately 50% of the time within the assigned territory and travel overnight as needed • For baccalaureate degrees earned outside the United States, degree must satisfy 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) • Unrestricted U.S. work authorization required at hire and throughout employment; sponsorship is not offered below Principal level
