• Serve as a technical advisor to internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate specifications and error-free designs • Maintain current industry standards files, including ANSI, IEEE, ABS, USCG, DNV, NEMA, and IEC • Define technical scope for tested product offerings with account managers and internal stakeholders • Participate as a subject matter expert in RFQ and specification reviews • Identify technical risks, material constraints, and potential schedule impacts • Develop, document, and present value-engineered solutions based on drawings, specifications, and customer requirements • Review project quotation packages for technical accuracy, clarity, and timely delivery • Develop and review preliminary datasheets and finalize project datasheets before design kickoff • Review sales quotation letters for technical accuracy, ratings, and tested product offerings • Communicate with United Laboratories about product offerings and testing requirements • Support R&D products requiring type testing of new equipment • Participate in submittal drawing design reviews to ensure industry and design standards are met and UL labels can be applied • Complete special projects assigned by the supervisor • Act as a technical liaison between customers and engineering, estimating, and operations teams • Evaluate design impacts on manufacturability, serviceability, and field support • Collaborate on standardized engineering processes, tools, and guidelines
• High School Diploma or GED, required • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field, preferred • Professional Engineer (PE) License, preferred • 5+ years of electrical power systems application experience up to 38 kV • Experience in Marine, Heavy Industrial, or Oil & Gas environments • Experience with switchgear, MCCs, generators, motors, power factor correction, circuit breakers, fuses, reclosers, transformers, protective relays, UPS and battery systems, VFDs, and automation systems • Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, NEMA, IEEE, IEC, UL/CSA, ABS, ANSI C37.1, and ANSI C37.2 standards • Strong practical knowledge of electrical power systems engineering, design tools, and production processes • Ability to independently identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues • Understanding of materials, production methods, quality control, and cost considerations • Proficiency with Microsoft Office • Familiarity with project management, Salesforce CRM, and ERP/accounting systems • Advanced verbal and written communication skills • Ability to interpret technical and regulatory documents and present complex information • Advanced mathematical aptitude, including statistical and algebraic problem-solving
