📋 Description

• Handle day-to-day transaction accounting in the general ledger, including accounts payable • Code vendor invoices by GL account and department • Prepare payment runs for Controller review • Maintain vendor records and W-9s and prepare 1099s • Manage corporate card and expense activity across Ramp and other company card programs • Code card transactions, follow up on missing receipts, and reconcile statements monthly • Review and record bank feed activity in QuickBooks Online daily • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for operating and sweep accounts • Reconcile accounts receivable and undeposited funds between Maxio and QuickBooks Online • Work with the billing team to research and resolve differences • Prepare and post month-end close entries • Maintain prepaid, fixed asset, and depreciation schedules • Record accruals and recurring journal entries • Reconcile balance sheet accounts with supporting documentation • Complete assigned close checklist tasks for Controller review • Support the Controller on sales tax obligations and reconcile Avalara to the general ledger • Maintain audit-ready documentation • Assist the Controller with audit and tax filing support • Complete other duties and projects as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience is a must • 3+ years of accounting experience, including month-end close responsibilities • Working knowledge of accrual accounting under GAAP, including prepaids, fixed assets, and accruals • Experience using AI tools such as Claude in accounting work • Interest in using AI to automate and improve recurring processes • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online or a comparable general ledger system • Intermediate Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables, and building reconciliation schedules • Comfort reconciling data across a billing platform, an expense tool, and a general ledger • Some exposure to sales tax basics • Solid attention to detail and ability to meet close deadlines while working independently in a remote environment • Ideal candidate resides in AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, ID, IL, KS, MA, MI, MO, NC, NH, NJ, NV, NY, OH, OR, SD, TN, TX, VT, or WA • Bonus: Experience with Maxio or similar platforms such as Chargebee, Zuora, or Recurly • Bonus: Experience with Ramp or another corporate card and expense management platform • Bonus: Exposure to SaaS or ecommerce accounting, including subscription revenue recognition under ASC 606 • Bonus: Experience working on a lean finance team reporting directly to a Controller or CFO
