📋 Description

• Handle all phases of complex commercial litigation with a high degree of autonomy • Conduct factual investigations • Manage discovery • Prepare pleadings and motions • Take and defend depositions • Engage in settlement negotiations • Communicate directly with clients • Support and help grow a partner-led practice serving technology, manufacturing, and transportation clients • Handle labor and employment litigation matters as a secondary focus • Work toward a 1,900-hour billable target

🎯 Requirements

• 3–7 years of commercial litigation experience; approximately 4–6 years preferred • Strong commercial litigation experience across discovery, motions, depositions, and settlement negotiations • Current experience at a reputable law firm, ideally mid-size or large • J.D. with solid academic credentials • Must currently reside in Michigan or Ohio • Must hold an active bar license in the state where you reside • Strong preference for candidates barred in both Michigan and Ohio • Pure commercial litigation experience preferred over a primarily niche environmental or regulatory practice • Ability to manage cases with a high degree of autonomy • Self-directed and proactive; comfortable with minimal in-person oversight • Ability to work Eastern Time hours • Labor and employment litigation experience preferred • Experience at a reputable regional, national, or AmLaw firm preferred • Direct client communication experience • Dual Michigan and Ohio bar admission preferred • Visa sponsorship is not available
