• Lead, manage, document, monitor, and analyze the quality system on medium to large projects • Lead planning, development, and implementation of Quality Management Plans from notice to proceed through final customer acceptance • Establish and lead quality control initiatives, three-phase inspection processes, and corrective actions • Review project plans for quality requirements before issued-for-construction drawings • Manage Quality Events, corrective actions, punch list identification and closeout • Manage Non-Conformance Notices and Requests for Information through corrective actions • Resolve issues with and without guidance from the Project Manager or Superintendent • Oversee and coordinate third-party peer design and testing agencies • Manage project subcontracts and suppliers • Visit suppliers to review quality programs for vital project components • Coach and mentor Field Engineers and Project Engineers • Provide job assignments and manage career development • Train others on Kaizen event roles and visual management • Participate in and lead group Kaizen activities • Lead team members by example, provide coaching and feedback, and manage performance • Maintain quality processes through project completion • Complete special projects or initiatives assigned by the operating group quality director • Assure project success when required to run a project or portion of a project as Project Manager or Superintendent
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent field • Minimum three years experience in the design, engineering, or construction industry with experience leading a project’s quality system • Experience with issue management and inspection of work put in place • Completed training in basic project management and supervision • Current driver’s license • Strong attention to detail to organize and manage multiple project tasks • Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Primavera Unifier • Proven positive and professional attitude and strong customer service skills • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies • Knowledge of one or more quality systems, including Malcolm Baldridge, ISO 9000, Lean, Kaizen, Army Corps of Engineers, Mortenson’s Quality System, continuous improvement, or value streams • Active listening skills and effective communication, including openness to diverse input and feedback • Ability to travel up to 75% • Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity, inclusive behaviors, and Affirmative Action plans and their intended use • Visa sponsorship is not offered • Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status
