• Lead all Environmental, Health, and Safety functions on the assigned BESS project site • Provide direction and oversight to site safety staff when applicable • Implement and enforce the Site-Specific Safety Plan, standard operating procedures, and BESS Standard Work Instructions • Partner with project leadership to align safety execution with schedule, manpower, and construction milestones • Implement and monitor safety controls for BESS installation and commissioning • Support electrical safety requirements, including NFPA 70E, LOTO, barricading, and energy isolation controls • Coordinate with electrical and commissioning teams on interconnection, testing, and energization risks • Reinforce safe practices around high-energy systems, temporary conditions, and changing site hazards • Ensure compliance with OSHA, state, local, client, and company safety requirements • Support EHS compliance plans, training initiatives, and recordkeeping • Conduct field audits, inspections, and observations • Maintain safety documentation and support internal and client audits • Lead emergency response planning and execution • Lead incident reporting, investigations, and root cause analysis • Ensure corrective actions are completed and effective • Monitor leading and lagging indicators to identify trends and address risk • Conduct safety stand-downs, coaching, and field engagement • Build relationships with operations, subcontractors, and client safety representatives • Support safety meetings, client interface meetings, and coordination with corporate and regional safety leadership • Perform other duties as assigned
• Minimum of 5 years of applicable EHS leadership experience • BS in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent (preferred) • BCSP Certification (minimum CHST) • Experience supporting BESS, solar, substation, or industrial electrical projects strongly preferred • Working knowledge of OSHA 1926 requirements, especially high-risk construction activities • Working knowledge of NFPA 70E fundamentals • Working knowledge of LOTO / energy isolation practices • Working knowledge of electrical hazard controls in construction environments • Ability to lead field safety execution, coach teams, and work effectively across operations and subcontractor groups • Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills • Proficiency in verbal and written English required • Bilingual Spanish preferred • Ability to travel and work at assigned project locations as needed • Ability to perform frequent physical activity indoors and outdoors • Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach • Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with assistance for heavier loads
