• Deliver quality solutions to hospital partners through trauma data abstraction and clinical quality data management • Categorize, code, summarize, interpret, and mine registry/case information from nuanced, unstructured patient medical records • Collect and report eligible Trauma cases under current state mandates and national accrediting agencies • Submit data accurately to specified registries or measure data repositories • Support hospital partners' ACS Accreditation using NTDB/TQIP quality tools • Perform timely abstraction and apply knowledge of standards supporting quality patient care • Stay current on federal, state, payer, and other regulatory and publicly reported data requirements • Contribute to team best practices, data dictionaries, abstraction guidelines, and business rule documents • Identify process improvement opportunities to streamline tasks and processes • Collaborate with and support the development of CDQS and SCDS team members
• Experience working with multiple patient medical record systems (EMRs) and clinical databases • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills • High standards for accuracy and attention to detail • Technically savvy and interested in learning new systems and technology • Organized and able to manage time across multiple accounts and shifting timelines and priorities • Commitment to information security and confidentiality of PHI • Must hold an AIS 15 Coding Certification • At least 6 months of experience abstracting in a Trauma Registry at any Trauma Level • Exposure to patient medical record systems (EMRs) and clinical databases • Intermediate proficiency with MS Office, including Microsoft Excel • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States now or in the future without sponsorship • Must be committed to working 30 or more hours each week to be considered full-time
