• Support development and maintenance of MTM Transit’s workforce safety culture in the assigned East Region • Ensure assigned locations and employees receive consistent training in accordance with state, federal, and contract-specific requirements • Ensure compliance with drug and alcohol testing, DOT, OSHA, and other required processes and programs • Perform reporting, data analytics, root cause analysis, audits, and strategy creation • Develop and implement standard operating procedures for site-specific and organizational safety training and regulations • Liaise with government entities during audits or onsite inspections • Provide daily guidance and leadership to regional safety staff • Create and deliver safety videos, manuals, policies, procedures, and programs • Collaborate with Transit, Operations Leadership, Training, HR, Marketing, and corporate teams on safety initiatives and training • Determine training needs, project scope, and effective training methodologies • Conduct and coordinate annual employee training-file audits and site safety evaluations • Establish safety metrics and reporting dashboards for monthly and quarterly presentation • Coordinate classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction covering passenger transportation operations and safety procedures • Support corporate safety incentives and programs, including safety points, audits, recognition, and program effectiveness • Develop and lead monthly refresher training on service-relevant safety topics • Investigate vehicle accidents and occupational injuries with HR and local safety staff; recommend causes, preventability, and retraining • Ensure new implementations have comprehensive safety training plans for employees, leaders, internal staff, and external stakeholders • Seek and lead improvements to safety training techniques and programs • Update training materials to maintain instructional integrity • Oversee selection, training, and hiring of safety personnel • Perform other duties as assigned
• High School Diploma or G.E.D. • 6+ years of transit/paratransit safety management experience or related experience • 3+ years’ professional facilitation experience in safety training role • Prior Supervisory experience • Must possess a valid driver’s license • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality • Ability to acquire and maintain strong knowledge of service/products that MTM Transit offers, protocols, policies and procedures • Ability to prioritize assigned projects, incidents, and requests • Strong communication skills, including presentations • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills • Ability to manage changing priorities, handle multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to a changing business environment • Ability to function independently and as part of a team with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and high level of ownership • Commitment to excellence • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office software applications with advanced skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint • Ability to work cordially, professionally, collaboratively, and diplomatically in a dynamic environment • Ability to interpret technical data, operating instructions, and policy/procedure manuals • Ability to recognize safety improvement opportunities and gaps and articulate options and tools to drive desired behavior • Ability to effectively delegate tasks and provide appropriate supervision and follow-up • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field preferred • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred
