📋 Description

• Manage and prioritize a portfolio of delinquent accounts • Perform outbound collections activities on accounts 30, 60, 90, and 120+ days past due via phone, email, and written correspondence • Research and resolve short payments, underpayments, unapplied cash, and other payment discrepancies • Identify and investigate root causes of delinquency, including billing, eligibility, enrollment, payment application, and customer dispute issues • Collaborate with Billing, Cash Application, Account Management, and other internal stakeholders • Manage and track payment disputes from identification through resolution • Document collection efforts, follow up timely, and communicate with impacted parties • Escalate complex collection issues, high-risk accounts, and unresolved disputes to management • Ensure accounts progress toward resolution and align with collections strategies

🎯 Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience • 2–5 years of collections or accounts receivable experience • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills • Experience managing account portfolios • Experience using AR systems and working with customers • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint • Excel proficiency in data sorting, filtering, and basic formulas • Ability to learn and navigate multiple systems and databases • Working knowledge of accounts receivable collection practices and insurance administration processes • Strong attention to detail and accuracy • Effective organizational and time-management skills • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to analyze account information and determine next steps for resolution • Ability to prioritize competing responsibilities and adapt to changing business needs • Basic understanding of AR aging, collection techniques, dispute resolution, and payment reconciliation • Reliable internet service sufficient for essential job duties: 50 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload while hardwired and not on a VPN • Preferred: experience in vision, dental, healthcare, insurance, or benefits administration • Preferred: experience with ERP, billing, CRM, or insurance administration systems • Preferred: exposure to process improvement, automation, or workflow optimization • Preferred: familiarity with audit support and internal controls • Preferred: experience with high-volume collections environments
