📋 Description

• Process payroll for an assigned portfolio of clients • Work directly with clients on payroll-related needs • Work across multiple payroll and HR technology platforms • Identify payroll practices that create client risk and help correct them • Serve as the main payroll information contact during audits, benefits census requests, and workers’ compensation reviews • Manage payroll compliance, including year-end tasks and state-specific requirements • Support employee benefits administration, reporting, and payroll setup • Lead payroll implementations, transitions, and other large-scale projects • Build custom payroll reports and conduct payroll audits • Serve as the payroll subject matter expert for the team • Coach and mentor other Payroll Specialists

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of payroll experience working at an independent level • Solid multi-state payroll experience • California or New York payroll experience is a bonus • Comfortable having difficult conversations • Interest in helping teammates grow and developing into a leadership role • Client-facing experience preferred, though flexibility is offered for strong candidates • Must be located within the Eastern or Central time zones • Well-versed in MS Office • Experience with payroll platforms; ADP, Paylocity, and Workday experience especially useful • Ability to build relationships and adjust communication style across a diverse client base • Alignment with company core values • Full-time salaried W2 employment
