📋 Description

• Work across product-facing features impacting acquisition and retention • Partner with product managers, designers, and data scientists to build commerce experiences • Tackle distributed systems challenges: race conditions, consistency guarantees, and throughput optimization • Evolve infrastructure to keep pace with Netflix's expanding commerce surface • Be part of on-call rotation for Tier 0 services, owning production reliability end-to-end

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of experience building resilient, high-scale, low-latency distributed systems in production • Thrive in ambiguity with a platform mindset • Dedication to operational excellence and correctness problems: race conditions, eventual consistency, and distributed transactions • Extreme ownership of domain and leading complex engineering projects • Excel in cross-functional environments and communicate technical trade-offs to non-engineering partners • Working experience with Java, Kotlin, C#, Scala, ElasticSearch, Kafka, Hive, or AWS • Experience with Presto and/or Spark SQL, Apache Flink • Proficient with gRPC, GraphQL, or RESTful API design and implementation • Experience with SQL & NoSQL multi-region data stores such as Cassandra, Amazon Aurora, Memcached • Comfortable with production on-call responsibilities and incident response for Tier 0 services • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science or a related field
