📋 Description

• Partner closely with data scientists and engineers to build low-latency data products • Develop highly available and reliable distributed data systems and services • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality data for use in the Netflix product • Help product managers and business leaders experiment and innovate on product experiences • Design systems that handle high-scale and high-throughput demands • Maintain operational excellence for systems 24/7 • Contribute to a collaborative environment within the team

🎯 Requirements

• Proficient in at least one major language on the JVM stack (e.g., Java, Scala) and SQL (any variant) • Strive to write elegant and maintainable code • Comfortable with picking up new technologies • Product mindset and curious to understand business needs • Naturally collaborative style to work with product management, data science, engineering, etc. • Strong data intuition and knowledge of analytical skills and data engineering fundamentals • Experience building applications with large-scale distributed systems and data processing frameworks (batch and real-time) e.g., Spark, Flink, etc. • Understanding of how ML systems consume data (features, inference inputs, labels, reward signals) • Design low-latency, reliable data products to support personalized experiences • Passion for making data available for self-service and wider integration • Craft scalable systems and solutions for a range of product and engineering goals • Strong operational awareness and ability to design multi-tenant systems • Prioritize observability in design with comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting • Own what you build and demonstrate passion for quality • Comfortable working in agile environments with vague requirements • Nimble and able to pivot when needed • Able to take smart risks • Relate to and embody aspects of Netflix's Culture • Enjoy working independently while also collaborating and giving/receiving candid feedback.
