• Provide field access support services and education to healthcare professionals to maximize patient access and accelerate time to treatment • Communicate with specialty pharmacies, closed-door pharmacies including Genoa, and the HUB partner supporting marketed products in the U.S. • Conduct pharmacy distribution-network vetting activities within the assigned geography, including approval, denial, or removal communications • Support and educate healthcare professionals on coverage issues, access-support services, processes, forms, payer-specific coverage, and patient financial-support programs • Serve as a subject-matter expert on regional and national payer coverage policies and processes • Collaborate with field sales, network pharmacies, market access, commercial analytics, operations, and Payer Marketing • Build and sustain relationships with pharmacies, physicians, office staff, and other healthcare professionals to resolve prescription coverage problems • Train and educate healthcare professionals on payer policies, documentation requirements, appeals, and patient financial-assistance programs • Introduce and support electronic patient-access submission technology such as CoverMyMeds • Explain payer criteria, prior authorizations, letters of medical necessity, appeals, step edits, formulary exceptions, and related documentation requirements • Problem-solve and conduct case resolution • Communicate with field sales, corporate employees, healthcare professionals, network pharmacies, and HUB employees to resolve access issues • Identify and communicate payer issues to the National Account Directors team • Interface with local closed-door and long-term-care pharmacies • Report patient-access opportunities and challenges to management • Present payer-policy insights at internal business reviews and sales meetings • Conduct Patient Access workshops and assist with new-hire training • Monitor and improve pharmacy distribution-network effectiveness using end-user feedback • Propose workflow strategies and share specialty-distribution best practices with trade leadership • Maintain an inclusive, discrimination- and harassment-free environment • Perform other duties as assigned
• BS/BA degree in a related field and 6+ years of pharma/biotech commercial experience, including 2+ years with specialty pharmacy/market access • OR PharmD or PhD and 2+ years of related experience • Master’s degree or MBA preferred and 4+ years of related experience • Specialty product experience, with CNS preferred • Strong understanding of specialty pharmacies, managed care, pharmacy benefit managers, and government payers • Excellent working knowledge of patient support programs, reimbursement support, financial assistance, and adherence programs • Strong understanding of prescription adjudication processes • Ability to communicate payer coverage criteria and prior authorization processes • Understanding of current issues within the marketplace, pharmaceutical industry, and national health care system • Ability to travel overnight up to 60% • Knowledge of functional-discipline best practices and related business disciplines • Ability to improve tools and processes within the functional area • Ability to work as part of and lead multiple teams • Leadership skills and ability to lead lower-level and/or indirect teams • Excellent computer skills • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical-thinking skills • Ability to understand broader impacts across departments and divisions • Ability to meet multiple deadlines accurately and efficiently • Excellent project management skills and ability to work cross-functionally • Excellent interpersonal skills and cross-functional team skills
