• Report to the Mill Maintenance General Foreman • Ensure routine maintenance activities are scheduled and resourced to minimize downtime and maintain equipment reliability • Maintain work order status from creation through closure • Record damage, abuse, normal wear, and other key information using notes and codes • Coordinate downtime with Operations, Maintenance, Warehouse, and vendors • Plan and schedule preventive maintenance and repairs for Fixed Plant Maintenance, Condition Monitoring, and Electrical teams • Ensure parts are staged for scheduled preventive maintenance and backlog repairs • Create and modify preventive maintenance schedules and work orders • Include procedures, pump wear data sheets, parts lists, and calibration sheets in work orders • Generate purchase requisitions and apply correct account coding and work-order posting • Evaluate component rebuild versus new procurement options and communicate decisions to management • Coordinate with vendors and warehousing to maintain stock availability and validate inventory min/max quantities • Prepare vendor rebuild scopes of work and verify repair quotes match requested scopes • Research and cost-compare items requiring Authorization for Capital Expenditure • Review and code invoices using business unit and object codes • Prepare backlog and preventive-maintenance reports for weekly scheduling meetings • Conduct scheduling meetings, establish weekly schedules, and prepare work orders for all crafts • Research, obtain quotes, and order parts and equipment for Mill Maintenance, Electrical, Instrumentation, Condition Monitoring, and HVAC departments • Maintain records and archive files • Arrange accommodations for vendors and contractors and log expenses in work orders • Ensure MSHA requirements are met, including crane inspections, ground checks, and pressure vessel inspections • Ensure safety activities comply with company policy and MSHA requirements, including Hazard IDs, pre-start checks, pre-start meetings, and incident reporting • Maintain housekeeping standards in work areas • Perform other duties as required
• High School Diploma or GED preferred (not required) • Current Driver’s License • Minimum 4 years of practical experience in mechanical/electrical planning or another related field • Mining industry fixed plant equipment planning and scheduling and/or mechanical experience with computer-based maintenance planning/scheduling • High level of organizational and planning skills • Technical knowledge of fixed plant equipment and parts • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and Pronto or similar CMMS • Good communication skills • Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices • Awareness of the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) Act and Regulations • Ability to pass a background check and post-offer physical • Ability to work a 28-day-on, 14-day-off rotating schedule, up to 12 hours per day or more • Ability to work at a remote campsite in extreme and changing weather, dust, mud, varying noise and light levels, and confined work areas • Employees must stay on site at the company-provided camp during the work rotation
