📋 Description

• Evaluate disability insurance claim eligibility using medical, occupational, and financial information • Identify additional information needed to assess claims • Apply policy language, analytical thinking, and judgment to determine eligibility, benefit calculations, and claim outcomes • Communicate with claimants, representatives, employers, field partners, and internal stakeholders • Explain complex claim information clearly, professionally, and empathetically • Handle sensitive situations with discretion, patience, and respect • Maintain accurate claim documentation throughout the claim lifecycle • Document activities, decisions, calculations, and communications • Draft claim-related correspondence, including requests, updates, and decisions • Manage an evolving caseload across multiple claim stages • Prioritize work while meeting service standards and deadlines • Partner with medical, financial, legal, technical, leadership, and field resources • Navigate ambiguous and complex situations • Contribute to team success through collaboration and knowledge sharing • Seek feedback and coaching while building claim management expertise

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience • Prior disability insurance claims experience is a plus but not required • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities • Ability to organize information, assess risk, and make sound decisions • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Strong customer service orientation and ability to navigate sensitive conversations with professionalism and empathy • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously • Self-motivated and able to work effectively in a production-driven environment • Comfortable making independent decisions while knowing when to seek guidance • Adaptable, resilient, and committed to continuous learning and improvement • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business technology platforms, including document management systems, communication tools, and virtual collaboration solutions
